AI agents and automated access to the n8n Community
Can an AI agent participate in the community on my behalf?
No. AI agents must not create accounts, publish posts or replies, send private messages, or submit Jobs applications on your behalf - whether or not they identify themselves as AI.
You can use AI to help you prepare a contribution, for example by translating text, improving wording, or helping with a draft. You must personally read the discussion, understand your contribution, and submit it yourself. Posting AI output without your own understanding is not allowed, even if you submit it manually.
Can an AI agent read or monitor the forum for me?
Do not use an AI agent to automate forum reading or monitoring, including checking the Jobs category, selecting projects, or producing recurring summaries. This applies to public pages and access through your signed-in account. There is no supported programmatic access route for this use.
Can I crawl or scrape community content?
The forum’s Terms of Service restrict automated access and monitoring. Do not crawl or scrape discussions or collect forum content for your own knowledge base or RAG system. Collecting addresses or other personal data for commercial mailing lists or databases is also prohibited.
The Terms include a specific exception: operators of publicly available search engines may crawl the forum to index it.
Does authorization, human approval, or low-volume use change the rules?
No. Permission from the account owner or a Jobs poster does not override the forum rules. Neither does approving a message before an agent sends it, using an ordinary browser, disclosing that the agent is AI, or limiting activity to a single application. AI assistance should support your own participation, not replace it.
