Why do I have fewer n8n Assistant credits since 1 October 2026?
On 1 October 2026, we changed the number of n8n Assistant credits (previously called AI credits) included in each n8n Cloud plan. Your plan now shows fewer credits. Each credit is worth more than before, so you can still build as much with n8n Assistant as you could last month.
What changed
Each Assistant credit now has a fixed value of 1 cent, so 100 credits equal $1. We made this change when we launched Assistant credit top-ups, so the credits in your plan and the credits you buy have the same value. Because each credit is worth more, we lowered the number of credits in each plan to match.
Plan | Until 30 September 2026 | From 1 October 2026 |
|---|---|---|
Starter | 2,300 | 1,600 |
Pro-1 (10k executions) | 5,700 | 4,000 |
Pro-2 (50k executions) | 13,700 | 9,600 |
Free trials include a one-time allowance of 800 credits.
Can I still build as much as before?
Yes. Each request to n8n Assistant now uses fewer credits than it did before, so the smaller allowance covers the same amount of work. We expect you'll be able to build more with your credits than you could before.
I pay annually. Does this apply to me?
Yes. Annual and monthly subscriptions get the same Assistant credit allowance on the same plan. The new allowance applies to every subscription from 1 October 2026, whenever you subscribed or last renewed.
What if I run out before the end of the month?
Your included credits reset on the 1st of every month at midnight UTC. If you need more before then, the instance owner can buy extra credits on the Assistant credits tab of the Cloud admin dashboard. Extra credits carry over from month to month and expire 12 months after purchase. For the steps, see Can I add or reset my n8n Assistant credits?
Running a workflow doesn't use Assistant credits, so your workflows keep running even if your Assistant credits run out.
