How do I get a refund for incorrectly charged VAT?

Paddle is the Merchant of Record (MoR) for all n8n Cloud transactions, meaning they handle tax calculation, collection, invoicing, receipts, and VAT refunds where applicable.

When you purchase an n8n Cloud subscription, Paddle is responsible for:

  • Collecting required customer and billing information

  • Calculating and charging the correct VAT or sales tax

  • Remitting taxes to the relevant authorities

  • Issuing compliant receipts and invoices


Why you may be charged VAT

Whether VAT (or a local equivalent such as GST or sales tax) applies depends on your location and whether you're purchasing as an individual or a VAT-registered business.

Charged VAT incorrectly?

If you believe you were charged tax in error, contact Paddle Support directly (https://paddle.net/) to request a VAT refund or correction. In some cases, tax may be adjusted or refunded once your details are verified.
