Which license do I need for my use case?
Sustainable Use License
First, here is our documentation on our sustainable use license if you haven't already seen it: https://docs.n8n.io/sustainable-use-license/
If you have a specific question about our Sustainable Use License and how it applies to your specific use case, please reach out to license@n8n.io
This helpdesk cannot grant permission to use our license for your specific use case. Please reach out to license@n8n.io if you are looking for explicit permission.
Commercial License
Here’s how our commercial licensing generally works:
Hosting Workflows and Credentials for Clients: If you intend to host and manage your clients’ workflows and credentials within your own internal n8n instance, an Enterprise license would be required. This ensures compliance with our licensing terms for such use cases.
Embedding n8n in Your Product: Should you plan to embed n8n into your product—effectively using it to manage workflows and credentials for your clients while exposing these workflows to them—a white-labeled Embed license would be necessary.
Consulting on Client Instances: If your role is limited to assisting your clients with setting up their own internal instances of n8n, no commercial license would be required on your part. In this scenario, your expertise as a consultant is the service being offered, and licensing requirements would depend on your clients’ use cases. Depending on their needs, your clients may require one of our Enterprise, Pro, or Starter licenses.
Please reach out to sales@n8n.io if you have questions about a commercial license.
